Membership Terms

These Membership Terms supplement the Terms of Use and describe paid access to The Frontier. By starting checkout you agree to both.

Entitlements

• Guest — up to 5 unique full-article unlocks per UTC calendar month. The title, summary, and metadata remain visible without unlocking. After that sample, a free account unlocks 5 more full articles this month.
• Free account — up to 10 unique full-article unlocks per UTC calendar month (including guest unlocks merged at signup or login, capped at 10).
• Paid member — unlimited full-article reading while the subscription is active (active or trialing in Stripe).

An editorial “Members” badge on an article is positioning, not a separate hard gate beyond the meter / paid tier rules above.

Billing

Paid membership is billed through Stripe on the plan shown at checkout (typically recurring monthly or annual). Taxes may apply. Prices may change for future renewal periods with notice via the site or email when practicable.

Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel in the Stripe Customer Portal from your account page. Access continues through the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated at checkout. Failed payments may return the account to the free tier. Refund requests are handled case-by-case; chargebacks may result in suspension.

Trials

If a trial is offered, it will be disclosed at checkout. When a trial ends without cancellation, the paid plan begins unless the offer states otherwise.

Local / preview environments

Development builds may expose a non-charging “dev upgrade” when Stripe is not configured. That control is not a commercial offer and may be removed at any time.

Billing and account data are processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
